2017 Candidate Interview: Ferndale Mayor Dave Coulter
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 8, 2017)
Ferndale, MI – In the City of Ferndale, Mayor Dave Coulter as well as Councilpersons Greg Pawlica and Melanie Piana are unopposed in the Nov. 7 election. However an election will still take place.
Mayor Coulter has been in office since 2011. Prior to that he served as County Commissioner. He works for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation, raising money to help sick kids.
“Most people that are attracted to being in elected office consider themselves problem solvers. I can start today and tell you the 3 or 4 or 5 things I want to work on for the next 10 years, but inevitably life happens. Things come up, and you’re always confronted with new challenges, new problems, new opportunities. And so I love the opportunity to get to work on problems that affect our city and I think my leadership style is to try to be as inclusive as possible,” he said.
