Royal Oak Arts Beats and Eats Sept. 1-4, 2017 (Oakland County Blog)

Ford Arts Beats & Eats, the annual festival filled with artwork, live music, and mouth-watering cuisine, is back for its 20th year this Labor Day weekend. From September 1st through 4th, festival-goers will be treated to special events and performances, including the 2017 Juried Fine Art Show and 200 live performances across several stages.

Fine Art Show

Whether you prefer Ceramics, Digital Art, or Pastels, you’ll be able to find it all at the 2017 Juried Fine Arts Show, where artists from all over the United States will converge to show off and sell their masterpieces. The level of artistry in the pieces on display make them the perfect gifts, home decorations, and even investments in the future of both locally and nationally known artists.

Music & Live Performances

As adults jam out to rockers like Gia Warner and Jazz favorites like J. Canady and the SoulNyce Band, younger festival goers are sure to love Oakland County’s Kids Stage, where a mix of music and whimsy is front-and-center. Highlights include demonstrations from the Michigan Science Center, Juggler Tim Salisbury, and Joe Reilly Concerts.

Need to refuel between musical acts? Arts Beats & Eats welcomes the best in Southeast Michigan eats. Over 40 Metro-Detroit restaurants and caterers will be in attendance, including Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina, Cool Jacks, and Lockhart’s BBQ, just to name a few.

The cost of admission varies based on time of entry. On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, admission is $3 until 3pm, $5 from 3pm – 5pm, and $7 from 5pm – close. Visitors may enter for free on Friday until 5pm, after that the rate returns to $7.

Active duty military and veterans are invited to attend Arts Beats & Eats for free, courtesy of Oakland County Parks. Present your military ID at any festival entrance ticket booth for a free ticket.
