(EVENT page)

Royal Oak, Ferndale, MI – In partnership with the cities of Pleasant Ridge, Berkley, Ferndale, Oak Park, and Hazel Park, we invite you to attend an upcoming SaveMICity presentation by the Michigan Municipal League. Find out why as the state’s economy is recovering from the Great Recession, our communities continue to struggle financially. SaveMICity is an informational campaign that looks at strategies to reform municipal finance at the state level to ensure that local governments don’t just survive, but that they thrive. The presentation is offered at three different times:

Wednesday, August 9th from 7-8 p.m. at the Ford Education Center at the Detroit Zoo

Thursday, August 10th from 7-8 the Ford Education Center at the Detroit Zoo

Tuesday, August 15th from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the Rust Belt Market, Ferndale

Free parking is available for all presentations; use the Zoo parking lot off of the I-696 service drive for the evening presentations. No RSVP is needed.

We hope you’ll be able to join us as we explain the complex story of municipal finance and discuss the efforts to address revenue deficiencies for all Michigan cities. To learn more about the campaign, visit
