Youth Assistance Breakfast

Tuesday, July 4, 2017, 9-11 a.m., David H. Shepherd Park

It’s always nice to enjoy a meal where the proceeds go towards a worthwhile cause. The Youth Assistance Breakfast is a fundraiser to help area youth who are in need of assistance and guidance. The Breakfast is held under Pavilion One in Shepherd’s Park right before the Independence Day Parade begins. We’ll have more details in the coming months.

Independence Day Parade, Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at 11 a.m., City Center Oak Park, Free Event

Independence Day Parade is a time-honored tradition in the City of Oak Park. Community members often reminisce about growing up in Oak Park and attending every parade. It’s a tradition they hope to continue throughout the generations. The parade honors the brave women and men who served, those currently serving, and those who will soon join the nation’s armed services. Bands, dancers, bicyclists, car enthusiasts, block clubs, community businesses, commissions, non-profits, and more celebrate the day and entertain the community. With the sun shining down, the warm breeze whistling through, the smell of barbecues, and the excitement for all to enjoy, the day is one to record in the memory books. Bring your lawn chairs, appetites, smiles and readiness to have some down home fun!
