Headwater Trails Adventure Paddle in Holly on June 11

Headwater Trails Adventure Paddle in Holly on June 11

(EVENT page)

Holly, MI – Headwaters Trails will be hosting the Adventure Paddle this year at Water Works Park in Holly.  It is a beautiful time of year to see Sand Hill Cranes, Blue Herons, Kingfishers, and other birds.  If you are lucky, you may see one of the beavers at the beaver dam.  Wild rice will be coming up along the banks in places and many spring flowers will be visible.

Registration begins at 11:00 with boats launching at noon.  We will have people at the Railroad Tubes, to help you through; the Beaver Dam, to help you over; and on the Fenton Mill Pond, in a tow boat to pull you across if you would like.  We send out a sweep boat at 2:00, from Water Works Park, to make sure everyone is off the river safely.

Heavner’s Canoe rental will be on site to rent canoes and kayaks.  They will be bringing a mix of both, but if you want to be sure to get the boat you want, call them in advance to reserve a boat at 248-685-2379.   This event is free to members but if you want transportation for you and your boat back to the start, there is a $5.00 fee.  We charge non-members $10.00 to participate, with return transportation included in that charge.

This is a fundraiser for Headwaters Trails and we request that you become a member or renew your membership if you have not already done so.  Registration will be on-site but you can download the registration form and bring it with you, if you wish.
