(Lt. William Wilson, Ferndale Police, May 24, 2017)

Ferndale, MI – Ferndale Police are looking for tips from citizens to help catch a dangerous man who robbed a 7/11 store clerk at gunpoint.

Early Sunday morning (05/21/17) at about 2:00 a.m. a robber entered the store [at 9 Mile and Pinecrest]. He was armed with a handgun. He racked a round into the chamber of the weapon and ordered the woman clerk to give him the cash out of the register. She complied, and the robber than took the woman’s car keys from her purse. He forced her at gunpoint into a closet and told her not to open the door.

The suspect then left the store and stole the clerk’s car. A few hours later, Detroit Police found the car near Cherrylawn and Norfolk.

The suspect is described as:

Black male, 5’6”, thin build, with the voice of a teenager.

He was wearing all black, including a black hooded face mask.
