Birmingham Hometown Parade May 21

Birmingham Hometown Parade May 21

(EVENT page)

Birmingham, MI – The annual Celebrate Birmingham Hometown Parade will march into town on Sunday, May 21 at 1 p.m. in downtown Birmingham. The treasured Birmingham tradition spans more than 40 years and draws thousands for a day packed with activities for the entire family to enjoy.

Members of the Birmingham community and surrounding areas are cordially invited to come out and enjoy the parade. The event kickoff begins at 1:00 PM at Daines and Old Woodward, then travels north on Old Woodward, west on Maple, south on Bates and ends in Shain Park. This year’s parade includes fire trucks, high school bands, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, Redford Township Unicycle Club, Harmony Acres Arabian Parade Horses, and the always popular basset hounds from The Basset Hound Rescue of Michigan.

After the parade, join us in Shain Park for lively music and free activities for the kids, including inflatables, a DJ with family-friendly activities, a face painter and more.  Park activities will continue until 4:00 PM.

Groups interested in joining the fun by being in the parade still have time to register. Volunteers are also needed for 2-3 hour shifts before, during and after the parade. Both parade participants and volunteers may register at or by calling (248) 530-1880.

For more information visit or call (248) 530-1880.
