Holly Historical Society Arts & Crafts Show May 6

Holly Historical Society Arts & Crafts Show May 6

(EVENT page)

Holly, MI – The Holly Historical Society’s annual Spring into Summer Art & Craft Show is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Karl Richter Community Center, 300 East Street in Holly. Exhibitors will showcase Michigan made products by local artists and crafters for unique Mother and Father’s Day gifts. There will be everything from indoor and outdoor decorative items, to organic personal care products and clothing accessories. The hours are 10-4 p.m. with admission at $2 and there is plenty of free parking and handicapped accessibility. A light lunch will be served by the Moose, from 11:30 – 2 p.m. Holly High School Senior Project Graduation will be selling delicious baked goods to benefit their all-night party for graduating seniors.

The benefit is for the Hadley House Museum, a restored 1873 Italianate wood structure. The building houses local artifacts and genealogy from northwest Oakland County. “With a building this old, there is always something to repair. This year’s project is the ceiling in the children’s room, which needs replastering and a new coat of paint”, relayed Linda Smith, president. The private non-profit group receives no government funding and relies on donations and the proceeds from their fundraisers. Last year’s two craft shows brought in enough money to pay for the exterior painting. “We want to plan this show every year, the Saturday, a week before Mother’s Day”, said event director, Susanne Les. “for gift shopping and spending some time with your mom, your grandmother, or a good friend. It will be a chance to think spring after a long Michigan winter.” For more information, call 248-634-5338.
