Birmingham: Announcing a symposium on Neighborhoods: Placemaking’s Building Block June 6 at the Birmingham Community House. Maurice Cox, the Planning Director for the City of Detroit, is our keynote speaker. Mr. Cox will discuss his recent master plans for Detroit’s neighborhoods, including his theory on “20-Minute Neighborhoods.”
Robert Gibbs, AICP, ASLA, CNU-A will present best practices for complete neighborhood planning and development, including case studies of Michigan’s New Urban Communities. John Jackson, AICP will present proven practices for planning and implementing sustainable neighborhoods.
