Berkley Appoints Citizens Advisory Committee for Infrastructure Improvements
(City of Berkley, Dec. 21, 2016)
The Berkley City Council announced the appointment of the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) for Infrastructure Improvements. The 15-member committee is charged with reviewing key information about the condition of city roads and municipal buildings. After the review, the committee will submit recommendations that will help city leaders confirm a course of action to address critical capital improvements for city roads, the Parks & Recreation Complex, city hall and the historic fire hall.
The city will also seek input from all Berkley residents by distributing a survey focused on the future of the Community Center and ice arena. This input will help City Council determine what the residents want regarding leisure services and determine the level of interest in maintaining an ice arena in Berkley. Copies of the survey will be mailed to residents and it will also be accessible on the city’s website.
The results will be shared in early February.
CAC members, all Berkley residents, are volunteers and will not be compensated for their effort. A series of meetings will be held between January and March 2017. Recommendations are expected to be presented to City Council by March 20, 2017.
