Driver Rescued After Snowmobile Fell Through Ice on Highland Lake

Highland Twp, MI_ FROM DAY SHIFT: 12-18-2016, 07:00 hrs.
THROUGH MIDNIGHT SHIFT: 12-19-2016, 07:00 hrs.
INCIDENT: 18:25 hrs. – Highland Township – Snowmobile through the Ice / Dive Team Assist – #16-221039
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to Highland Lake for a male who fell into the water while snowmobiling on the lake. Neighbors on the lake ran out and assisted the male out of the water prior to the Deputies arrival. The victim was transported by Star EMS to Huron Valley Hospital where he was treated and released. The DNR was notified regarding the removal of the snowmobile from the lake.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Members of the OCSO Dive team, who were on duty, responded to that location until it was confirmed that the male was actually out of the water.
VICTIM INFORMATION: 52 year old male, resident of Highland Township.
