If you plan to start a business, this workshop is designed for you. Aspiring entrepreneurs will receive an introduction to startup costs, financing options, and business planning along with the necessary steps to getting started. Business owners will also be able to assess their abilities to lead and manage a company, as well as evaluate market and sales potential for their products/services.

Learn about the free resources available to address your workforce recruitment, retention and training needs. You may be surprised by how many services are available to you through the Michigan Works! offices and Oakland County’s One Stop Shop Business Center, including: Candidate Pre-Screening, Workforce Assessment, Pure Michigan Talent Connect, Hiring Incentives, Business Consulting Services, Securing Capital and Market Research / Marketing Plans.

CEED Lending Small Business Loan Orientation
Wednesday, December 14th, 9:00 – 11:00 AM

Small businesses often face obstacles, especially when trying to obtain a business loan. As a DDAnew01small business owner, it’s important to understand the steps  to obtaining a business loan. If your business is located in Oakland County and you have a need for alternative financing, consider the CEED Small Business Loan Program. This particular workshop will provide the requirements needed for the program, while detailing the process necessary for application. CEED Lending is an initiative of Great Lakes Women’s Business Council. This workshop will be held at the Oakland County Executive Office Building in Waterford.

Walk-In Start-Up Thursdays
Every Thursday, all year, 9:30 AM – Noon & 1:30 – 4:30 PM
Fee: This workshop is free and no appointment is necessary

Individuals who want to launch a business but don’t know where to begin can receive confidential, one-on-one advice from an experienced business consultant. Counselors will answer start-up questions, suggest next steps and guidance on business planning tools.  blumz_holiday03Walk-in sessions available on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to 15 minutes.
