Mental Health First Aid Training by Oakland Schools Dec. 2 in Holly
Holly, MI – Parents, teachers, community members, school staff, church staff, first responders and any adults who are in contact with you are invited to a day-long “Youth Mental Health First Aid Training” on Friday, Dec. 2 from 8am to 4pm at Karl Richter Campus 920 Baird Street in Holly.
The program is FREE and includes a participant manual and 3 year certification. To register contact Elen Lounds at ellen.lounds@hask12.org.
Youth Mental First Aid USA is an 8 hourYouth Mental Health First Aid USA is an 8 hour public education program which introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Mental Health First Aid uses role – playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self – help care.
