Two People Shot in Altercation in Holly -UPDATED

Holly, MI – An argument in a parking lot at Oakland Street just south of S. Sagniaw Street led to two people injured by gunfire.

According Village Manager Jerry Walker, the incident happened around 8:45 Monday night.

“An altercation occurred between individuals parked in a car and those standing outside.  Ultimately gun shots occurred resulting in the injuries, both treated and released.  [The] case is under investigation and no arrests have been made at this time.” Walker said.

The relationship of those involved is unknown at this time.

Remnants of police tape remain and of the two apartment buildings adjoining the lot, one is vacant due to condemnation.

UPDATE:  A police report obtained by oc115 gives more details about the incident.  The victims were a 23 year old white male and a 21 year old black male that live in the 100 block of Oakland.

According to the report:  “Both victims were in the parking lot of the location and approached by subjects in a vehicle. There was an altercation with the two residents and one of the occupants of the vehicle whom had gotten out of the car. During a scuffle one of the passengers int he vehicle began shooting at the victims. Both were hit by bullets.  [name withheld by oc115] was treated at the scene by Fire DMX and the other was treated and transported to Genesys Hospital.  [second victim name withheld by oc115] later went t the hospital with friends.  Both were eventually released and later returned home.  Other on scene witnesses were interviewed by Patrol Officers and they located evidences of the incident.”

“The investigation is ongoing, no suspects in custody as of 0230 11-15-16.  The investigation continues,” the report states.
