Commerce Twp, MI – FROM DAY SHIFT: 07-02-2016, 07:00 hrs.

THROUGH MIDNIGHT SHIFT: 07-03-2016, 07:00 hrs.

INCIDENT:  09:55 hrs. – Commerce Township – Ethnic Intimidation – #16-113178

SUMMARY:  Deputies responded to the 9000 block of Gittins Blvd for an ethnic Intimidation report.  The homeowner discovered a small stuffed animal hanging from a tree by a rope in his back yard.  The residence is located on Lower Straits Lake.  The stuffed animal, had its’ head cut off, and its arms taped behind its back.  The complainant and his wife are of African-American decent and believe that this was an intentional form of Ethnic Intimidation.

OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:   The complainant advised that he has no idea of lynn_stange_01who may be responsible for this action.  There are no witnesses or video available.  The homeowner stated that he and his family have resided in the home for more than two years and have had boaters pull up to their property and point at them.  Furthermore, the complainant stated that last month, a neighbor, with whom they are friend’s had several people at a barbecue; someone called out the N word, while the wife was in the yard.
