Refresh and Reboot at Ferndale Library with Zentangle Workshop, June 29

FERNDALE, Mich. –The Ferndale Library offers a refreshing way to kick off your summer with a Zentangle Workshop on Jun. 29.

Zentangle is a refined practice of doodling, which can be an ideal way to revitalize one’s self-esteem, calm the nerves and spark creativity.

Certified Zentangle instructor Samantha Wunderlich will facilitate the workshop (for adult participants). Similar to yoga, a regular Zentangle garden16_amber lamay_june2016practice can refurbish one’s self-esteem. This will be a beginner’s introduction to Zentangle, to this age old process of drawing beautiful images through meditative, repetitive patterns.

This is an opportunity for anyone interested in seeking some refreshing relief through art, so no prior experience or skill levels are required. Zentangle is an additive drawing technique, with participants forging their own structured designs through illustrations of various patterns. It requires focus yet relaxes the overall mind.

The freer your mind, as you begin, the more rewards and relaxation you’re likely to experience. The practice is meant to alleviate stress, sharpen one’s focus and organically create some DIY fine art.HowesLocation

The program is free but registration will be required, since space is limited. (Anyone interested should call (248) 546-2504 or stop at the Reference Desk).
