The hockey teams of the Royal Oak Police and Fire departments are set to square off in their sixth-annual Royal Oak ‘Guns & Hoses’ Charity Hockey Game held Saturday, April 16th at 7:30 PM at the John Lindell Ice Arena in Royal Oak, Mich. Proceeds from this year’s game will 
directly benefit the family of fallen Michigan State Police (MSP) Trooper Chad Wolf.
“We’re honored by the opportunity to support the family of MSP Trooper Chad Wolf. Some of us were fortunate enough to have met Trooper Wolf during his support of the Woodward Dream Cruise and remember him as friendly, professional and a dedicated public servant” said Patrick Stanton, a Sergeant with the Royal Oak Police Department and the “Guns & Hoses’ event co-founder.
MSP Trooper Chad Wolf was 38 years old and had served with the Michigan State Police since 2008 when he died from traffic crash related injuries suffered while on duty on August 28th, 2015. Proceeds generated from the ‘Guns & Hoses’ hockey game will be used to support Trooper Wolf’s wife and four young children he left behind.
Tickets for this year’s game are $10.00 each and can be purchased in advance by visiting the 
Royal Oak Police Department or any Royal Oak Fire Department station. Tickets can also be purchased at the John Lindell Ice Arena in Royal Oak on the day of the game.
The ‘Guns & Hoses’ hockey game has successfully raised nearly $32,000 for various charities through the Metro Detroit Area since 2010. In 2015 nearly 500 people witnessed the Royal Oak Police Department take a 3-2 series lead, with a 10-4 win over the Royal Oak Fire Department.
