Deputies Seek Information in Fatal Hit and Run in Oxford

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is assisting Deputies from the Sheriff’s Oxford Twp. Sub-station with a Hit & Run Fatal Pedestrian Crash that occurred on Drahner Rd. east of Olive Dr. in Oxford Township.

A female, who appears to be in her twenties, was found off the roadway south of Drahner Rd..  The victim was found by a newspaper delivery woman at approximately 4:19AM today.

Vehicle debris was found near the victim. Evidence at the scene indicates that the crash happened several hours prior to the victim being found. The victim has not yet been positively identified but is believed to a resident of Brandon Township.

This is an active investigation.  There are currently no suspects or witnesses to the crash or a description of the responsible vehicle at this time.

Update to below Fatal Hit and Run Today:

A suspect turned himself in to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, Oxford Township Substation this afternoon. He is a 19 year old man from Macomb Township. He was driving a Black 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The truck revealed damage consistent with evidence found at the scene.

The victim is a 26 year old female, Jordyn Brooke Puckett, from Orion Township, not Brandon Township as previously reported. Investigators have identified two friends of the victim whom reported that Jordyn was a passenger in their vehicle on the evening of 2.29.16. According to the friends of the victim, they became involved in verbal argument while driving on Drahner Rd. at approximately 9:30PM. She exited the vehicle and proceeded to walk eastbound on Drahner. The friends attempted to return Jordyn to the vehicle, but she refused. They later returned to the area looking for her, but were unsuccessful in locating her and assumed she had safely arrived home.

The suspect struck her as she was walking (unknown if she was in the roadway) at approximately 10:00PM nearly one mile from where she exited her friend’s vehicle. The suspect is lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending review of potential charges from the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. His vehicle has been impounded as evidence, and investigators continue to search for witnesses in the incident as it remains under investigation.
