Oak Park, MI – Jonathan Wolff, television theme song composer for ‘Seinfeld,’   ‘Will & Grace,’ and over 40 other shows, will be giving a piano “Concertalk” on Saturday, January 30th at 8 pm at Beth Shalom synagogue in Oak Park.

The event is open to the public. Wolff’s presentation will include describing his musical journey, garden16_tom_selmanperforming his most famous TV themes on piano, and sharing Hollywood stories, as well as how anyone can make it big if they have the desire and drive.

The ‘Seinfeld’ theme was honored as “One of the Greatest Theme Songs of All Time” by TV Guide and one of “The Most Unforgettable TV Sounds” by Time Magazine. Wolff originally got the job for writing the theme music from a call directly from Jerry Seinfeld himself. The concept of the slap bass as the theme song’s feature instrument was unheard of in the early 1990s, as most themes were centered around vocals and saxophone.

Part of the presentation will involve stories of working with Seinfeld as well as series co-creator Larry David. Time will also be allotted for questions and answers.711adAPP

Wolff is a Louisville native, and moved to California in order to pursue his music career. Other famous   shows he wrote music for include “Who’s the Boss,” “The King of Queens,” and “Reba.” After 30 years in Los Angeles, Wolff moved back to Kentucky and retired from music, and he now gives   speeches and concerts around the country. Tickets are $25 in advance when ordered by January 28th, or $30 at the door, and can be purchased by calling the Beth Shalom office at 248-547-7970.

Refreshments will be served. A Pre-Glow Meet & Greet will take place approximately one hour before the event, with tickets at $36 (only in advance), including Pre-Glow as well as the Concertalk. Beth Shalom is located at 14601 Lincoln St. in Oak Park.
