Acting Out Kids Community Theatre is a youth theatre in Clawson.  It is unique because it was created by kids, Madison Siwak and Max Siwak, and is led by kids (with adult supervision and guidance).  We offer productions, movies, acting classes, professional workshops, field trips, community events and drop-in events every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month for kids ages 8-18 years old (due to the holidays, the drop-in events for November and December will be on Nov. 20, Dec. 4 and Dec. 18).  We also have a youth committee where kids ages 8-18 are welcome to join us in helping to plan fun events for our theatre and for the community.

Since we are a kids community theatre, our emphasis is on kids and community.  We believe that kids should be involved in the community, so we volunteer and perform at a variety of local community events on a regular basis. Participation in community events is encouraged, but never required.

The founders of this theatre, Madison Siwak and Max Siwak, are also the creators and hosts of Awesome modern natural baby inprogressClawson and Awesome Clawson Kids, which are two separate TV shows that highlight people, businesses, organizations and events in Clawson. The shows air several times a week on three separate local cable channels and can also be viewed on the City of Clawson website.

For the Awesome Clawson Kids TV show, kids from our theatre are given the opportunity to act in commercials that we create to help promote upcoming events in Clawson.

Our emphasis with both the theatre and the TV shows are to get kids to become active in the community and to be positive role models for other kids. At the same time, kids are learning real life skills such as public speaking, taking initiative, building confidence, being creative, working as part of a team, mentoring and leadership, all while making new friends and having fun in a safe, non-competitive and welcoming environment.

Kids from all cities are welcome to participate in our theatre.  We are a non-profit, so almost all of our events (for both the theatre and the TV show) are free or very low cost and these lisa schmidt lawevents are also fun ways for kids to help out and to become active in the community.
