After 14 years as the City Manager for Berkley, Jane Bais-DiSessa is ready to take on a bigger challenge – working as Deputy Mayor in the City of Pontiac, according to various reports. Bais-DiSessa has been the City Manager of Berkley for 14 years. According to a report in the Detroit Free Press, the move is not so much a financial gain as a step up in scope.

“I came from a large city, San Antonio, and my goal was always to return to a big city,” she twist_club01told Free Press reporter Bill Laitner. Pontiac, with a population of about 60,000 is four times the size of Berkley. And with State involvement in the finances, there are plenty of challenges for her to tackle.

Her pay in Berkley was $106,551. In Pontiac it will be $107,000 according to the Free Press.

The Oakland Press reports “Bais-DiSessa’s appointment has been confirmed by city council and will become final after approval from the Pontiac Receivership Transition Advisory Board, according to a press release.”
