Newbery Award-Winning author & illustrator Lynne Rae Perkins will be making a visit to the Oak Park Public Library (14200 Oak Park Blvd, Oak Park, MI 48237) on Sunday, October 4 from 1:00-2:30pm to sign books and discuss her work. This event is co-sponsored by Book Beat and the Oak Park Library. It is free and open to the public. Books will be available for sale and signing at the event courtesy of Book Beat. DDAnew01Lynne Rae Perkins was awarded the 2006 Newbery Medal for her novel Criss Cross. She is the author of three other novels—All Alone in the Universe, As Easy as Falling Off the Face of the Earth, and Nuts to You. Lynne Rae Perkins has also written and illustrated several picture books, including The Broken Cat; Snow Music, a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor Book and a Book Sense Top Ten Pick; Pictures from Our Vacation; and The Cardboard Piano. The author lives with her family in northern Michigan.
