Be a Hero: Rescue a Cat!

Ferndale Cat Shelter Hosts Adopt-a-thon at Ferndale Library July 25

Visit the Ferndale Area District Library on Sat., Jul. 25 for the chance to be a real hero to a four-legged feline. The Ferndale Cat Shelter will be on site (inside the library’s Community royal_servicesRoom) with adoptable cats and kittens from 12 to 3 pm.

This special opportunity to rescue an adorable kitty in need of a good home is tied in with the library’s hero-themed Summer Reading programming for children and adults.

Participants interested in adopting a cat will be given a chance to meet and get to know each animal, but final approval for adoption requires a home visit. So, while no one can actually bring a cat home with them on this day, they can at least choose one lucky cat and initiate the adoption. Adoption fees for kittens under 6 months are $100 (and $60 for age 6 months to 5 years); that include spay/neutering service, vaccines, microchipping, de-worming, and the first three veterinary exams. Fees for cats older than 5 are only $40. Ferndale 115_FFL
