Pledges Being Accepted to Support Online Community News

(C. Proxmire, June 16, 2015)

The oc115 News has signed up with Patreon to have a platform for collecting monthly pledges from readers who value our website.

Traditionally news outlets have survived with reader subscriptions and advertisers.  The oc115 does sell some advertising, but in order to really be sustainable, it needs community buy-in and a steady base of income to cover the expenses.

That’s where this Patreon page comes in.  Here you can give whatever amount you would like – from a dollar up to a million (though $15 is the recommended level).  For $15 you can get a virtual flower planted in our online community garden.  There are several levels of giving available.  The money is monthly so a little bit from everyone can really go a long way for the oc115.

Check out the Patreon page and consider your part in this lovely and ambitious experiment in online community news!
