The pretty blue sky over Oak Park filled with dark gray smoke Monday afternoon when a fire at T & W Tool in Oak Park.  At around 2pm Oak Park Public Safety arrived to fight the fire, with 711 ad slurpeethe Ferndale Fire Department sending an engine to wait on standby as part of the Mutual Aid agreement between cities in South Oakland County.

Because it was waste oil on fire, they also requested the presence of a specialty foam truck that Gage Products keeps on hand.  Fortunately the foam was not needed, according to Ferndale Fire Chief Kevin Sullivan. He stated that there had been a layer of oil floating on water in a holding tank, and not a large source of oil.  The cause has not yet been determined and there were no injuries.
