House Hosting Storytellers Guild Fundraiser April 30

Storytellers Luncheon w/ Illustrator Gijsbert Van Frankenhuyzen, Thurs., April 30
On Thursday, April 30 from 11:30am-3:00pm, The Community House (380 South Bates St., Birmingham, MI) will host a luncheon fundraiser for the Storytellers Guild, with proceeds going to the purchase of library books for classrooms visited by the Guild. Guest speakers are author Robbyn Smith and illustrator Gijsbert van Frankenhuyzen. Gijsbert will also be signing copies of his books, available at the event courtesy of Book Beat. Gijsbert Van Frankenhuyzen is the illustrator of dozens of children’s books, including: The Legend of Sleeping Bear, The Legend of the Petoskey Stone, The Edmund Fitzgerald, Mackinac Bridge, The Legend of Mackinac Island, and his latest, S is for Sleeping Dunes, among many others. He also collaborated on the Hazel Ridge Farm children’s book series with his wife Robbyn Smith. These stories are taken from there years of caring for wild animals on their 40 acre farm in Bath, MI.
