Join Danialle Karmanos for a Mom-to-Mom chat to share insights for planning a great birth experience and to learn about the new Karmanos Center for Natural Birth

Pregnancy and new parenthood are exciting times in the lives of new or expecting parents. It’s also a time when they have lots of questions and are seeking information about what’s in store for them during the delivery of their baby and afterwards.

With funds provided by the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Beaumont hosts annual baby fairs in Royal Oak, Troy and Grosse Pointe to provide new and expecting parents with lisa schmidt lawinformation, product demonstrations, activities and tours of its family birthing centers.

Special this year, the baby fair at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak will introduce participants to the new Karmanos Center for Natural Birth, a one-of-a-kind birthing center that combines the comforts of home with the safety net of a high-tech hospital. Opened last November, the luxurious, holistic birthing center was created through a $6 million gift from Danialle and Peter Karmanos Jr., in celebration of their four sons – Socrates, Leonidas, Spiros and Aristides.

Saturday, April 18, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., South Tower Concourse, Beaumont Hospital, 3601 West Thirteen Mile Road, Royal Oak

Mom-to-Mom Chat with Danialle Karmanos: Join local mom of four and natural birth Candlewickshop_May2014veteran, Danialle Karmanos, for a Mom-to-Mom chat to share insights for creating a great, individual birth experience. Delivery nurses and midwives from the recently opened Karmanos Center for Natural Birth will join the conversation to offer their expertise from hospital admission to departure.

New parent mini-classes on comfort measures in labor, breast-feeding basics, choking relief, homemade baby food, infant massage, baby basics for dads and moms, car seat safety education and “Happiest Baby on the Block.”

More than 50 mom and baby friendly vendors, including local schools and vendors offering healthy and natural food, mother/baby yoga, infant photography, toys, mom-friendly boutiques and many others.

New parent mini-classes on choking relief, baby care, breast-feeding and comfort care, safe sleep, the Beaumont Parenting program

Informational tables including Ask the Pediatrician, Ask the Midwife, Integrative Medicine, Printthe Cotton Family Birth Center and its Natural Birth Center, and homemade baby food demonstrations.

Prize drawings every 15 minutes.

The baby fair is free, but there is a $2 admission to the Mom-to-Mom sale.
