 Breaking and Entries

Apovini, 1915 E Maple Rd, 3/10/15, 6am – 6:10am:  Complainant advised he was contacted by the alarm company on his way into work. When he arrived he discovered pry marks on a door and a broken window. Nothing was disturbed inside the business.

Credit, Check, Identity Theft, Other Fraud

2000 block of Lanergan Dr, 3/4/15, 9am:  Residents reported they were notified by the IRS that a fraudulent return had been filed in their names.

2000 block of Lovington, 3/11/14, 12pm: Resident reported she received a call from a collection agency advising her that she had a Verizon account that was in collection for the amount of $1,054.79. Resident stated she does not have a Verizon account.royal_services

4000 block of Chestnut Hill Dr, 3/7/15, 12pm: Resident reported they were contacted by Blue Cross Blue Shield advising them that the company computers had been hacked.

5000 block of Green Hill, 1/23/15, 5pm: Resident reported a Comcast account was opened in his name to an address in Colorado.

6000 block of Crabapple, 3/2/15 – 3/12/15, 12pm: Resident advised someone had filed a fraudulent IRS tax return with the resident’s information.

 Domestic/Family Trouble

Troy Officers responded to 6 incidents involving domestic disputes or family troubles during this reporting period.  On-scene investigation of these incidents did not result in evidence of crimes being committed; however, Officers were required to take non-enforcement actions to either mediate the situation or keep the peace.  Readers should be aware that although these incidents did not result in arrest or prosecution, they do represent significant law enforcement resources in terms of time, on-scene investigation, potential relocation of disputants, referrals to support agencies, peace keeping, as well as detective and prosecutorial review.

Allison & E. Long Lake, 3/13/15, 4:54 pm: Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. Officers suspected marijuana was in the vehicle and K-9 Officer alerted to marijuana scent in the vehicle. Marijuana and a “one hitter” was found in the vehicle. The driver, a 21-year-old from Troy, was cited for “POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA” and “POSSESSION OF NARCOTIC PARAPHERNALIA.”

South Blvd & Rochester Rd, 3/15/15, 3:21am: Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was found to have a suspended license. Officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to having marijuana on his person. The driver, a 29-year-old from Rochester Hills, was arrested for “POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA” and “DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED.”

Driving Under Influence of Alcohol/Drugs

E Big Beaver Rd & Bellingham, 3/12/15, 1:12am: Officers stopped a vehicle for a red light violation. Officers detected an odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The driver had glassy blood shot eyes. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 24-year-old from Clinton Twp., was arrested for “OPERATING WHILE INTOXICATED.” Breath test results were.17%.sidebar012stairs

E Maple Rd & John R Rd, 3/12/15, 1:58 am: Officers stopped a vehicle weaving out of its lane. Officers detected a strong odor of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 28-year old-from Troy, was arrested for “OPERATING WHILE INTOXICATED.” Breath test results were .35%.

W Big Beaver Rd & Troy Center, 3/13/15, 12:05am:  Officers stopped a vehicle after observing it swerve out of its lane several times. Officers detected a strong odor of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 33-year-old from Hilden, Germany, was arrested for “OPERATING WHILE INTOXICATED.” Breath test results were .19%.

E Big Beaver Rd & Bellingham, 3/13/15, 1:27am: Officers stopped a vehicle for a prohibited turn. Officers detected an odor of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to drinking and failed filed sobrieties. The driver, a 33-year-old from Sterling Heights, was arrested for “OPERATING WHILE INTOXICATED.”

Dequindre Rd & E Big Beaver Rd, 3/13/15, 8:10pm: Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. Officers detected an odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The Sahara ad with winedriver was found to have a suspended license and marijuana on his person. The driver, a 32-year-old from Shelby Twp., was arrested for “OPERATING WHILE INTOXICATED 3rd OFFENSE,”  “DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED” and “POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA.” Breath test results were .09%.

I-75 & W Big Beaver Rd, 3/14/15, 4:13am: Officers investigated a vehicle stopped on the freeway. Officers observed the vehicle running and the driver and two passengers passed out. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 24-year-old from Waterford, was arrested for “OPERATING WHILE INTOXICATED.” Breath test results were .15%.

John R Rd & E Maple Rd, 3/14/15, 7:23 pm: Officers responded to a call of a possible drunk driver. Witnesses stated the driver was drinking a large can of beer while driving. Officers located the vehicle and observed a very strong odor of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle. Officers observed an open beer can in the console and three young children in the backseat. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 46-year-old from Hazel Park, was arrested for “OPERATING WHILE INTOXICATED” and “CHILD ENDANGERMENT.” Breath test results were .15%.

I-75 & W Big Beaver Rd, 3/10/15, 4:14pm: Officers observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. As officers attempted to catch up to the motorcycle, the motorcycle failed to stop for a red light and entered onto the freeway. Officers followed the motorcycle with lights and sirens activated, and the motorcycle continued on the freeway weaving through traffic at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle slowed to exit the freeway and officers were able to stop the driver. The driver, a 23-year-old from Farmington Hills, was arrested for “FLEE AND ELUDE” and “RECKLESS DRIVING.”
