Woman Charged in Murder of Son and Granddaughter
(C. Proxmire, Dec. 8, 2014)
Sixty-five year old Sylvia Majewska of Addison Twp. was arraigned on Dec. 8 on two counts of premeditated murder in the Nov.23 deaths of Daryne Gailey and Charley Hendrick of Oxford.
Hendrick, Gailey’s daughter, was just seven months old when she died in her crib of blunt force trauma to the head. Gailey, 29, died of a slit throat in the bathroom.
Majewska was found with lacerations in her arms and unconscious. She remains hospitalized and will not speak to investigators. An attorney she had hired has since stopped representing her according to the Oakland Press.
Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard told reporters at a press conference Monday that investigators found notes and other documentation at the home, that show she had planned the murders.
Premeditated murder carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison in Michigan.
