Ferndale Gets Lit with Holiday Hoof Run, FestiveALE
and a Metalliclaus Tree Lighting (video)

Ferndale rang in the holiday season in a truly “Ferndale Normal” way on Saturday with a trio of events to help visitors “get lit.”
Pork, potatoes and beer filled bellies as local bands rocked the stage inside the heated tent of FestiveALE at One Eyed Betty’s. And when the sun went down runners donned in holiday-themed costumes and adorned with colorful lights did an obstacle course through town for Holiday Hoof.
And finally the evening came together as visitors and neighbors gathered in the median of 9 Mile and Woodward for the annual tree lighting ceremony. Mayor Dave Coulter and a bunch of adorable kids did the countdown to turning on the lights, but only after a visit and a song from the famous Metalliclaus.
