Death of 29-Year-Old Oxford Man and Infant Daughter Under Investigation

(Crystal Proxmire, Nov. 24, 2014)

A 29-year-old grocery clerk named Daryne Gailey was found dead Sunday in his Oxford home, along with his seven-month-old daughter. Gailey’s mother was also found severely injured in the home on Kintyre Drive on Sunday.

The man was found in the bathroom with blood around him and a sharp object nearby, but it is unclear if the object is the weapon used on any of those found in the home, according to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.

The cause of death remains under investigation. There are no signs of forced entry to the home, and Gailey’s mother is hospitalized under sedation due to blood loss.

WXYZ spoke to neighbors who identified the man and stated that he was married but separated from his wife and had just recently gotten visitation of his daughter.

“Several neighbors remembered Gailey as a friendly person who was always willing to help,” the WXYZ report said.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
