…Dec. 6 Rochester School of Rock, Champion of Heat Resistance

Ferndale Library Concerts Keep on Rockin’ Sat. Dec. 6 with Rochester School of Rock and Champion of Heat Resistancechazzano game ad

(Kelly Bennett, Nov. 16, 2014)

Genuine live, loud rock music inside a library is no longer a novel concept thanks to Start HERE Saturdays, the Ferndale Public Library’s popular monthly concert series.

This month’s two performers include the dynamic and talented youngsters from Rochester’s School of Rock, an ensemble that’s way more edgy than their relative ages and heights may suggest, with keen showmanship and honed technique, will be performing along with Champion of Heat Resistance, a one-man singer/songwriter specializing in lo-fi quirky pop and electronic folk jams.

Started in 2010 and originally scheduled on the First Friday of every month, this after hours local music showcase was recently rescheduled (and rebranded) with the Library now closed on Fridays after recent necessary budget cuts. But, some library programs are simply too cool to cancel. Music is alive and well at the Ferndale Library, having invitedJudy_Palmer30years local bands to plug-in and perform for the public, free, for four year’s running.

The beloved local music program, spearheaded by Kelly Bennett, Head of Circulation Services, welcomes two local bands for a free all ages show beginning at 7pm on Sat. Dec. 6.

If you are interested in playing at one of the Start HERE Saturday events, please contact Kelly Bennett at kelly@ferndalepubliclibrary.org.
