Weekly Update for the week of October 30, 2014 through November 6, 2014

Breaking and Entering

30301 Woodward (Michigan Pain Management), 10-31-14, 2:30 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.:

Complainant reported she arrived at the office and observed a male subject in the reception area. The subject quickly walked passed her and exited the building.

Further investigation revealed the suspect damaged the door lock, entered the business and stole several prescription drug pads.

The suspect was described as a black male, 45-60 year-old, 5’11” to 6’1″, thin to medium build, with dentures and a raspy voice. He was wearing a dark blue shirt, dark blue puffy style coat, a black baseball hat, large wide eyeglasses, jeans, and tan Timberland style work boots. 14-36938

32956 Woodward (Arid Blow Dry & Beauty Bar), 11-4-14, 11:57 p.m.: Complainant reported she noticed the rear door of the business was damaged when she arrived at work.lisa schmidt law

She reviewed the business surveillance video and discovered a lone male suspect broke into the business through the rear door and stole an undisclosed amount of currency.

The suspect was described as a black male with a light complexion, bald with a mustache, approximately 30-years-old. He was wearing a gray hoodie, red jacket with blue trimmed sleeves and collar, blue jeans and tennis shoes. 14-37437

32737 Woodward (Fuse Salon), 11-3-14 – 11-4-14, 9:20 p.m. – 10:00 a.m.: Complainant reported she arrived at work and noticed the door handle on the rear entry door was damaged. Further investigation revealed an unknown suspect had attempted to break into the business. 14-37443

Larceny from an Automobile

700 block of E. Second, 11-4-14 – 11-5-14, 9:00 p.m. – 7:45 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his Apple Mac Book Pro laptop computer. 14-37526

300 block of E. Windemere, 11-6-14, 12:01 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.: Complainant reported she parked her car in her driveway. When she returned she discovered an unknown suspect had entered her unlocked vehicle and stole a Garmin portable GPS navigation system, dishes, and a charging cord. 14-37639

1100 block of E. Sunnybrook, 11-5-14 – 11-6-14, 8:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.: Complainant reported he parked his vehicle in his driveway. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect had entered his unlocked car and stole four (4) pair of running shoes, cosmetics, and a wallet. 14-37636dinos02sidelogo3

Malicious Destruction of Property

200 S. Center (Parking Structure), 11-1-14, 12:00 a.m.: Complainant reported she parked her vehicle in the parking structure. When she returned she discovered an unknown suspect had keyed her passenger side door and slashed all four of her tires. 14-37120

2300 block of Crooks, 11-01-14, 3:08 a.m.: Complainant reported an acquaintance came to his residence and damaged his garage door and a window screen. 14-37055

3000 block of W. Thirteen Mile, 11-2-14 – 11-3-14, 5:00 p.m. – 8:30 a.m.: Complainant reported she parked her vehicle in her apartment building parking lot. When she returned she discovered an unknown suspect had keyed the trunk lid and the driver and passenger side doors. 14-37375

2800 block of Vinsetta, 11-5-14, 3:30 a.m. – 3:35 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect threw a wooden log through her living room window. The complainant waited several hours before reporting the incident to the police department. 14-37557

Other Activity and Information

200 N. Main (Emagine Theater), 11-2-14, 10:11 p.m.: Officers responded to the theater to investigate an assault that occurred in the theater lobby reportedly involving a handgun. Two subjects were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical confrontation.modern natural baby inprogress

During the fight one of the subjects allegedly pulled a handgun from his waistband and used it to strike the other in the face. Both subjects then fled the lobby area.

Officers located the victim of the assault with the handgun in the theater lobby. The suspect who pulled the handgun was located with a group of people in the area of E. University and Main Street. Both subjects refused to cooperate with the investigation. Officers conducted a thorough search of the area and the parties involved, but did not locate a firearm.

Subject #1 was arrested for Assault and Battery and a Parole Violation.

Subject #2 was arrested for Felonious Assault, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Interfering with a Police Officer, and Possession of Marijuana.

During the investigation a third subject, not directly involved with the incident, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. 14-37284
