Pleasant Ridge Resale Boutique Oct 25-26
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 23, 2014)
A group of volunteers in Pleasant Ridge has come up with a fantastic way to raise money for the Pleasant Ridge Foundation: A pop up Pleasant Ridge Resale Boutique.
On Oct. 25-26 at the DPW Yard (corner of Maywood and Gainsborough, East of Woodward and 5 blocks south of 696/10 mile) the boutique will feature new and gently used items such as: shoes, purses, jewelry, accessories, clothing, athletic wear, household items, lamps, dish sets, rugs, linens, art work, musical instruments, small appliances. Hours are: Saturday October 25th, 10am till 2pm & Sunday October 26th 4pm till 7pm.
Jodi McGuire explained the inspiration for the project. “Years ago the city of Pleasant Ridge had a one day rummage sale. The rummage sale enhanced community spirit, supported community volunteerism and sponsored community improvements. The idea came up about a year ago to put a new spin on an old idea.”
100% of the profits will be donated to the Pleasant Ridge Foundation, which has a long history of supporting city improvements which enhance the lives of all of our residents. The hope is to keep the boutique going through the year, but for now there are just the two sale dates. Donations and volunteers will be needed if is to carry on.
