Troy police are on the lookout for a man that stole an armored vehicle at gunpoint in front of Troy Athens High School Wednesday. According to several published reports, the armored truck was taken by a man on a petsittingbike who was brandishing a gun. The man had been on a bicycle when he approached the vehicle.

Later the armored truck was found in the parking lot of Troy International Church at Wattles and Rochester Road. Money was missing from the truck, and a witness told police the suspect fled in a red van.

According to The Detroit News, Troy High School was in a “code yellow” status, where no one could come in or leave without giving a specific reason.
