Two Teens on Bikes Injured in Hit and Run on Rochester Road

The Crash Reconstruction Unit is assisting deputies from the Oakland Substation with the investigation of a hit and run bicycle injury crash that occurred on Rochester Road south of Romeo Road on Sunday, Sept. 28 at approximately 8:34 pm.
A 15 year old resident of Washington Township and an 18 year old resident of Leonard were riding their bikes with traffic, northbound on Rochester Road in a dark, unlighted area when both were struck by an unknown vehicle that was also northbound.
The vehicle, possibly an older SUV left the scene after hitting the bicyclists.
The 15 year old was transported to McLaren-Oakland by Oakland Township Fire where she was treated and released.
The 18 year old was transported to McLaren-Oakland by Addison Township Fire then transferred to Beaumont-Royal Oak where he is in stable condition.
Neither bicyclist was wearing a helmet.
This crash remains under investigation.
