The Michigan State Police Second District will be holding a recruiting event on Saturday August 30, 2014 at Pontiac High School 1051 Arlene St., Pontiac, MI 48340. The seminar will run from 10:00am until 2:00pm.

Interested career seekers are to arrive at 9:45am, while dressed in business casual attire. This event will dinos02sidelogo3acquaint potential applicants with the many career opportunities available with the Michigan State Police and will feature many of the Departments specialty units, such as the Emergency Response Team (SWAT), Underwater Recovery, K-9, Bomb Squad, Aviation and Forensic Science Unit.

The minimum requirements for consideration are as follows: an applicant must be of good moral character; a United States citizen; a Michigan resident at the time of appointment to the academy; at least 21 years of age at the completion of the recruit school; possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.; have a good driving record anddda_ad_06 stable credit history; and no felony convictions. Starting salary at the beginning of the 21 week recruit school is $45,000 with a $6,500 raise upon the completion of one year.
