Lathrup Village Hosts Info. Meeting on Primary Ballot Proposals July 29essential

(Martha Potere, DDA Director, July 17, 2014)

The City of Lathrup Village is pleased to announce that it will host an informational meeting on Tuesday, July 29th at 5:30 pm in the Community Room of Lathrup Village City Hall to give voters details about the only two proposals on the August 5th Primary Ballot. They are State Proposal 14-1, regarding the State Use waterworkTax, and a County Proposal regarding Oakland County’s public transportation millage renewal.

Samantha Harkins of the Michigan Municipal League will give a brief presentation on State Proposal 14-1, followed by a presentation from the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) on the county-wide millage to fund public transportation. Upon conclusion, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the two organizations in an effort to clarify questions around each proposal, and their potential impact on community members.Judy_Palmer30years

Attendees need not be residents of Lathrup Village. All are welcome to attend, especially those residing in Oakland County. These meetings are for informational purposes only and, as the event is hosted by the City of Lathrup Village, presenting organizations are unable to advocate for a position on either proposal.

Please join us on July 29th, and do not hesitate to contact DDA Director Potere with any questions or concerns: assistant@lathrupvillage.org
