Tequila Thief Suspect Arrested in Ferndale
(Lt. William Wilson, Ferndale Police, July 9, 2014)
At about 10:30 A.M. on July 8th, employees of Como’s Restaurant on Woodward reported that a man had just entered the restaurant and stole a bottle of Patrone Tequila from the bar area and left on foot. He walked southbound across 9 Mile road into the City Parking lot just one building from the police station. Officers responded and arrested the man who began drinking from the opened 1.75 L bottle. He was arrested for the theft and is also being held for a parole violation stemming from a Home Invasion conviction in Oakland County.
SUSPECT: SHAMIS SIMS, b/m, 34, Oak Park
He was arraigned and is being held on $5000 cash/surety bond.
