Summer Concert at Ferndale Library: Streetcorner June 10
The Ferndale Library performs its annual magic act this month when it turns local baked goods into music. Their summer concert series, sponsored by the library’s fall bake sale, kicks off on Tue Jun. 10 with local five-piece vocal harmony group Streetcorner.
This free concert begins at 6:30 PM and will be in the library’s Community Room. All ages are welcome and all attendees will be assuredly pleased by Streetcorner’s classy and endearing revival of classic early 60’s vocal-pop, R&B and various treasured tunes released under the iconic Motown label.
The Library’s Summer Concert Series is an ideal way for music fans and families to spend a summer evening. Our roster of bands and musicians will be performing during regular Library hours, sometimes leading, then, to the most pleasant of pop, lounge and singalong-rock music cheerfully resonating throughout the whole library at fittingly agreeable volume levels. Every reader needs to rock out a bit, right?
Two more acts will fill the library with music this summer. Local trio Oblique Noir will charm us with world lounge music on Tue. Jul. 8 in our Community Room and The Candy Band, a pop-rock group who specialize in children’s music with an edge will play outside in the library’s courtyard on Tue. Aug. 19.
All three concerts will begin at 6:30 PM on their schedule dates. This is always a fun, engaging event for the community and the staff is always happy to host it Library cardholders donated all the desserts for our Bake Sale last November, and now this is a way to for the Library to give back.
