Ferndale Public Library Will Waive Fines for Food Donations Through April 5waterwork

(FPL Press Release, March 27, 2014)

Ferndale Public Library makes paying fines feel doubly good next week by participating in the Food For Fines program Mar. 24 through Apr. 5. Each donated food item can be used to remove $1.00 in overdue sidebar01reader_supportfines from a patron’s record. Each patron can waive up to $5.00 in overdue fees using food items. All food items will be donated to Gleaner’s Food Bank. Only unexpired, unopened packages in good condition will be accepted. No glass please.

The Food For Fines program comes just in time for Ferndale Public Library’s new $5.00 fine threshold. Those patrons owing $5.00 or more in fines or fees will have their access blocked until their fines are below that amount.
