A mid day fire is consuming the home at 518 E. Troy Street. Firefighters from Ferndale, Hazel Park, Madison Heights and Royal Oak are on the scene, with responders working together to make sure the fire does not spread to other homes.  The fire appears to be mainly in the second floor of the home, and firefighters are on the roof shooting water into the windows to suppress it.

The neighboring departments responded as part of a mutual aid agreement among the cities.  Southfield Fire personnel are now on standby to cover the Ferndale Fire station.

When the fire is extinguished, and investigation will be done to determine the cause.  No one was injured in the blaze. Story will be updated when more information is available.
