Royal Oak Police Report: Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Traffic Stop

Larceny
410 S. Main (Burgerz Restaurant), 2-23-14, 2:30 a.m.: Complainant accidentally left his cell phone on the counter. When he realized what he had done, he returned and discovered an unknown suspect stole it. 14-6209
25352 Woodward (L.A. Fitness), 2-21-14, 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.: Complainant arrived at the gym and hung up his Nike jacket in the locker room. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect stole it. 14-5899
Larceny From an Automobile
200 S. Main (Emagine Theater), 2-21-14, 2:00 p.m. – 2:10 p.m.: Complainant parked his vehicle on the second level of the parking structure. He returned and discovered an unknown suspect broke out his passenger window. The unknown suspect stole the in-dash navigation system from his 2013 Chrysler Town and Country. 14-5915
Malicious Destruction of Property
Third Street and Williams, 2-22-14, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Complainant parked his vehicle on the street near the intersection of Third and Williams. When he returned to his vehicle he discovered an unknown suspect damaged the passenger side mirror and keyed the driver’s side. 14-6351
Other Incidents
Guilford and Woodward, 2-24-14, 1:29 p.m.: Officers responded to investigate a suspicious person walking in the area. The subject was located at Woodward and Glenwood. Further investigation revealed the subject was a registered sex offender who had failed to comply with the sex offender registry requirements. He was arrested without incident. 14-6311
Sixth Street and Center, 2-22-14, 4:57 p.m.: Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the investigation it was determined the vehicle he was driving was stolen. The suspect was arrested without incident for Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property and Driving While License Suspended. 14-6088
110 S. Main (Leo’s Coney), 2-20-14 – 2-21-14, 11:30 p.m. – 12:39 a.m.: Complainant parked his vehicle in the parking lot behind Leo’s Coney Island and entered the restaurant. When he returned to his vehicle he discovered the passenger side window was broken out and an unknown suspect stole a Tom-Tom portable GPS unit, black leather brief case and a cell phone charger.
Officers began checking the area for possible suspects. While checking the area they observed a suspicious male and a running vehicle in the parking lot of Hi-Tops bar located at 25442 Woodward next to a parked vehicle. Officers spoke to the subject who was intoxicated. He stated he struck a parked vehicle while pulling out of the parking lot and was checking for damage.
During the investigation officers observed the property stolen from the vehicle that was broken into behind Leo’s Coney Island inside the subject’s truck. The 38-year-old Milford resident was arrested for Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property and Operating While Intoxicated. The case is still under investigation. 14-5850 14-5851
