Oak Park and Ferndale Declare Snow Emergencies
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Feb. 18, 2014)
Oak Park and Ferndale are among the communities that have established a Snow Emergency to begin at 7am on Feb. 18. This means that vehicles must be removed from the streets so that plows can get through.
Those who do not move their vehicles risk being ticketed and/or towed. Ferndale officials have given information on the cost of winter services thus far, and on the number of tickets written. Royal Oak Mayor Jim Ellison said that his city is waiting until morning before deciding if a snow emergency is necessary or not.
Residents or visitors in any city should consult the city’s website for the most current snow emergency information.
