dinos02sidelogo3Police responded to a report of a homicide on Jan. 14, 2014 at the Devon Square  Apartments at 1225 Orchard St. (near Hilton), according to public documents reviewed by The Oakland County 115 News.  The call was logged at 12:10 pm. According to neighbors, police have been in the area looking for a suspect.

Ferndale Police Chief Tim Collins declined commenting on the crime, and said the more information would come from Lt. William Wilson when he becomes available. Devon Square Apartments offer income-based housing for individuals over age 62, and two bedroom family apartments.  Information about the victim is not being released.

Murder is rare in Ferndale.  Since the Ferndale 115 News began in 2009, there have been only two reports of homicide.  In December 2009 a teenager was shot to death at a Sweet 16 party at the VFV Hall , and in November 2010 the owner of Dollar Club on Hilton was killed.

More information will be added as it is known.
