Financial Fitness Series at Ferndale Public Library Starts Jan. 22moderntax

Resolve to get your finances in shape with help from the Ferndale Public Library’s Financial Fitness Series. This four part series will provide a foundation for making your money work for you today and tomorrow.
The series kicks off on Wed., Jan. 22 at 7:00 pm with a crash course in investing. The first half of the seminar, “Make Your Money Work for You,” will introduce attendees to the concepts of investing, the nicholas-schrock-allstatesecond part, “Build Your Investment Knowledge,” will provide a more in depth look at the process.
Wed., Feb. 5 our experts will present “Smart Money Moves in your 20s and 30s,” and teach attendees good savings habits, tax considerations, and the basics of creating a budget.
Wed., Feb. 19 the focus turns to tax strategies. This presentation will focus on accurate record-keeping, how to treat federal, state, and local tax forms, and rules for other areas like child care tax and charitable contributions.

The series wraps up on Mar. 5 with a presentation about preparing yourself for retirement. It will highlight questions you should ask yourself as you start looking toward retirement like how will I spend my time, and what are my sources for retirement income?
Each seminar begins at 7:00 pm. Attendees may arrive at 6:45 pm so they can sign-in and pick up materials. Registration is encouraged for these programs. Please call or visit the Reference Desk to sign up. Registration is requested by the Monday before the date of the program.
