Police Report Orion Twp. Man Preaching Door to Door with Hatchet in HandHowesLocation

INCIDENT15:01 hrs. – Orion Township  Suspicious Person / Involuntary  Committal          # 13-194457

SUMMARY: Deputies responded to the area of Chalice and Minton  for a suspicious person going door to door with a hatchet in his hand, preaching scripture from gospel; also trying to stop cars near an Street-Eatzz-Adelementary school. The suspicious person was asking people if they believe in God. The witness stated the suspect never threatened them with the hatchet. Deputies were able to locate and disarm the suspect without incident. The suspect has several interactions with OCSO for usual behavior.

OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: The suspect was transported to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital by ambulance and Deputies completed an involuntary mental health committal petition on the subject.
