An armed robbery occurred at the 7-11 convenience store located at 1040 W. Nine Mile, Ferndale on 11/18/2013 at approximately 3:00am.

Two black male suspects entered the store, one was armed with a pistol.  The suspects robbed the clerk at gunpoint, demanding money.  The suspects took money from the cash register and the safe and also took lottery tickets and cigarettes.  The suspects also attempted unsuccessfully to enter the store office.

The suspects left the store after the robbery and entered a vehicle waiting for them in the parking lot that was being driven by a third suspect.  The vehicle fled the scene.

The store clerk called the police and gave a description of the suspects and the vehicle.

A responding Ferndale Police Officer observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle at Eight Mile and Livernois and followed it until a second police car arrived.  The suspect vehicle fled when the nicholas-schrock-allstateOfficers turned on their emergency lights, however they crashed into a light pole a short distance later.

All three suspects fled on foot, two of which were captured.

Arrest warrants will be sought for the two suspects and they are expected to be arraigned on 11-19-2013.

Further investigation is being conducted to identify and locate the third suspect.

Officer have also discovered that the vehicle used in the robbery was taken in a carjacking incident in Detroit, and that these suspects are suspected in a home invasion of an occupied dwelling that occurred just prior to the 7-11 robbery.
