Annual Perennial Exchange Saturday
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Sept. 12, 2013)
There aren’t many places where Mother Nature has a good return policy, but here in Ferndale the annual Perennial Exchange gives residents a chance to dig up the plants they don’t want and trade them with other gardeners for some they may like better. The annual event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14.
The way it works is simple: bring a plant, seeds, or bulbs to leave on the table, and take something you want in it’s place. The Ferndale Beautification Commission hosts the event and it’s a great way to spread Ferndale love and greenery among neighbors. There will also be rain barrels available for purchase for $60 each, through Maxi-Containers.
The exchange happens rain or shine, from 10am to 1pm at the Kulick Community Center, 1201 Livernois.
