10th Annual Funky Ferndale Art Fair, Sept 13-15

10th Annual Funky Ferndale Art Fair, Sept 13-15essential

(Funky Ferndale Press Release, Sept. 11, 2013)

What is Funky Art? Art that doesn’t just sit there and look pretty. Yes, there will be traditional paintings but the focus of this show is on work you may not see at other events. The festival is a juried show, over 300 artists from across the country applied for the 120 open spots.

Fabulous local Ferndale restaurants will be joined by some festival food favorites to guarantee no festival-goer need leave hungry.

Fashionable DDAsample02Ferndale’s downtown is a thriving business community with distinctive boutiques and bistros. The lively atmosphere attracts young upwardly mobile professionals. This show is designed to provide a showcase for artists that have work that appeals to that group. By producing an event appropriate for a community, we are able to attract large crowds that have a direct interest in the works being presented. Our goal is not attracting a massive crowd of random bodies.

Artist booths are positioned along Nine Mile Road, west of Woodward Avenue in the shopping district. Restaurants and music are kept to the end to minimize distraction.
